To borrow RAC equipment, email your request to RAC equipment coordinator Joseph Francis or call 540-775-3034.

Loaner equipment is available only to club members, for a period of one month, and must be returned to the club at the next monthly meeting for use by other members. Equipment may be retained for an additional month per each request if no one else wishes to use the item (email Joe two weeks prior to the next meeting to request retention). Borrowers are responsible for any damage to or loss of borrowed equipment. The club's equipment loan policy is summarized here, along with a list of membership benefits and club community activities.

Equipment

Description
8" Dobsonian Reflector Scope, two eyepieces and a Telrad unit-power finder.
6" Orion Equatorial Reflector Scope, eyepiece, tripod, equatorial mount with counterweights and slow motion controls.
6" Celestron Schmidt-Newtonian Reflector Scope, 25mm & 18mm eyepieces, photographic tripod, Rigel QuikFinder.
5" Celestron NexStar 5 GOTO scope, tripod, telrad, diagonal, TeleVue 8-24mm zoom and Pentax 14mm eyepieces
6" Orion Dobsonian Reflector Scope, 25mm & 10mm Plossl eyepieces, EZ Finder II reflex sight, moon filter and carry case.
40mm Coronado Personal Solar Telescope PST, one eyepiece; 1/4"x20 socket for standard photo tripod, user must provide tripod.
Meade DSI Digital Astrocamera Fits 1.25" focuser and connects to laptop via USB cable. Camera control software required.
