Quite a few members were set up in different locations along the path of totality, from Oregon to the coast of South Carolina. There will also be reports on new science done by some of our members during the eclipse. Please note that the meeting will be in a new location, Room 2 of the Fredericksburg branch of the Central Rappahannock LIbrary at 1201 Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg. The meeting will be from 7-9 pm as usual. Hope you can attend!

Star party cancelled, but program is on tonight

Rappahannock Astronomy Club Posted on July 22, 2017 by Glenn HollidayJuly 22, 2017

The weather forecast is overcast with a chance of storms tonight (Saturday July 22 2017). Tonight’s star party is cancelled because we won’t be able to see anything. But the program, How To Blow Up A Star, is still on. At Caledon State Park picnic pavillion at 8pm.

Note if we get a thunderstorm the park will cancel the program. I’ll try to give an update if that happens, but that call would be at the last minute.
